The Mitutoyo 7315A is a high-quality analogue thickness gauge that combines the accuracy of a mechanical dial gauge with a more specialized contact system for measuring grooves, thin material, and pipe walls. This measuring tool is particularly suitable for situations where the target to be measured is located in a narrow groove or on internal surfaces, and accurate and repeatable measurement is required.

The gauge offers a measuring range of 0–10 mm and a scale division of 0.01 mm increments. The maximum accuracy is ±0.015 mm, and the parallelism accuracy is 5 µm. The point of contact is a knife-edge anvil tip that reaches into grooves and constricted areas – this allows measurement of pipe walls, plates, or pockets, for example, where a conventional gauge cannot reach. The measuring force is up to 1.4 N, ensuring controlled contact with the surface to be measured without unnecessary pressure.

In addition, the design incorporates a ceramic-coated contact point for improved wear resistance and protection against corrosion. Measuring to a depth of approximately 30 mm, the model covers slightly deeper areas. The gauge is ergonomically designed: its handle, trigger, and dial system make it easy to use in a production environment without compromising accuracy.
