Details
R&D engineers at SMC, the world’s leading pneumatics supplier, have responded to industry demand for lightweight, greaseless, high-performance metal fittings by introducing an upgraded range of KQG2/KFG2 series stainless steel fittings and KQB2 series brass fittings. SMC engineers have taken the popular KQG/KFG and KQB series of metal fittings, added some missing options, and made them smaller, lighter, and stronger. SMC’s KQG2 series of 316 stainless steel plug-in fittings are up to 30% smaller in size and 62% lighter than previous models, now offering 8 new options, expanding the range to a total of 17 models. With the addition of two new tube sizes, these fittings are suitable for tube diameters ranging from 3.2 mm to 16 mm. The KFG2 series, SMC’s 316 stainless steel fittings, have also been expanded from five to nine models and are now up to 44% smaller and 37% lighter than the previous KFG series. Now available with NPT threads and for 16 mm tube sizes. These fittings can be used at temperatures from -65 ºC to 260 ºC when the version without sealing paste is selected. The sleeveless seal allows for easier maintenance. SMC’s range of upgraded metal fittings is completed by a brass option, the KQB2 series, which is also up to 30% smaller in size and 62% lighter in weight than previous models. This range has been extended from nine to 17 models, with both NPT and G thread options. All brass parts are nickel-plated, ensuring these fittings retain their attractive appearance throughout their service life.
