Details
The dimensions of the O-rings are always given as follows:
O ring internal diameter (d1) x material thickness (d0).

NITRILE RUBBER (NBR)

Nitrile rubber is a commonly used name for blended acrylonitrile-butadiene polymers. The acrylonitrile content varies in technical applications (18% to 50%) and affects the properties of the elastomer.
The higher the acrylonitrile content, the better the oil and fuel resistance.
Compared to other elastomers, nitrile rubber has good mechanical properties. Wear resistance is also good with nitrile. Nitrile ages rapidly under the influence of air and ozone.

Suitable for use with:
- aliphatic hydrocarbons (propane, butane, petroleum, mineral oil and lubricants, diesel fuels, fuel oil)
- vegetable and mineral oils and fats
- HFA, HFB and HFC fluids
- many dilute acids, bases, saline solutions at low temperatures
- water (with special mixtures up to 100 ºC)

Not suitable for:
- high aromatic fuels (for special fuels it is advisable to use a special mixture)
- chlorinated hydrocarbons (trichlorethylene)
- polar compounds (ketone, acetone, acetic acid-ethylene ester)
- strong acids
- glycol-based brake fluids
- ages rapidly when exposed to air and ozone.

Heat resistance:
Withstands heat up to 100 ºC, and to 120 ºC at the cost of a shorter service life (aging is faster at higher temperatures).
Aging is slower in hot oil than in hot air.
Cold resistance:
Nitrile withstands cold from -20 ºC to -50 ºC, depending on the composition.
